Penthouse in the Mountains

This stunning penthouse in the mountains of Almaty was designed as a full-time home for a young family with three children. Every room in this home was carefully thought out to balance luxury, comfort, and functionality. The style is modern chalet — cozy, warm, and elegant, with natural textures, soft colors, and lots of light.

The project started with inspiration from lighting. The very first item chosen was a chandelier, and from there, the entire design grew naturally. The home features custom furniture, rare marble, and artistic accents, all chosen to reflect the family’s personality and lifestyle.

The living room is open and bright, with calm tones and clean shapes. Natural textures like wood and linen bring warmth to the space, while elegant details give it a quiet luxury. It’s a perfect space for hosting guests or enjoying peaceful family evenings.

The master bathroom is a true highlight of the home — bold, rich, and filled with character. We used a very rare, dramatic marble that feels like art. Every detail, from the Italian fixtures to the lighting by Eichholtz, was carefully selected to create a luxurious, spa-like atmosphere. The design of the entire bathroom started from the chandelier — it was the heart of the concept.

Each child’s room has its own unique story. The teenage girl’s room is colorful and expressive — just like her. She’s a creative person who sings and paints, so we used joyful, artistic colors to reflect her spirit.

The first boy’s room is more neutral and calm, designed to grow with him. We didn’t make it too “childish” — instead, it has a smart layout, custom furniture from Kazakhstan, a stylish headboard, and a cozy reading nook by the window. The second boy’s bathroom is small but full of impact. It features rare, bold marble in the shower, contrasted with soft lighting and modern black fixtures.

The hallway on the second floor is a quiet transition space, made special by a woven tapestry from a famous Kazakh artist. It adds warmth, culture, and depth to the interior. The simple wood floor and black details keep the space modern and grounded.

Every corner of this home reflects careful choices — in materials, lighting, layout, and color. The tones are mostly soft and neutral, to help the family feel calm and relaxed after busy days. But throughout the home, you’ll find moments of surprise — a bold stone, a beautiful piece of art, or a thoughtful light fixture.

This penthouse isn’t just a home — it’s a story of harmony, elegance, and a deep connection to both nature and family life. It’s a place where beauty feels effortless, and every room brings peace and inspiration.
