Villa “Galina”

This elegant residence sits on a lush 1.5-hectare plot. The house was already built when the designer was invited to create the interior. Despite initial doubts due to low ceilings, the designer embraced the project, choosing a neoclassical style that better matched the clients — a refined, well-traveled couple with a love for books, art, and meaningful objects.

A luxurious carpet gifted by family friends became the starting point for the living room’s palette. The second inspiration was the clients’ extensive library and art collection, which shaped the atmosphere throughout the house.

The ground floor includes a large entrance hall, a classical kitchen, a light-filled living room, a TV zone, office, and guest bathroom. On the lower level is a working kitchen, and the second floor houses three bedrooms — two main suites with walk-in closets and bathrooms, and a guest room.

Light tones were used to visually raise the ceilings, complemented by tall doors and delicate brass accents. The palette is calm and sophisticated, with coral in the wife’s bedroom and deep blue textured wallpaper in the guest bathroom. The highlight of the home is a custom dark-graphite stained-glass partition between the kitchen and living room. The kitchen, also in classical style, features beige cabinetry, varied designer marble, and graphite crown molding for contrast.

All major furniture — kitchen, beds, wardrobes — was custom-made. The clients’ valuable artworks and cherished gifts were thoughtfully integrated, creating a rich, layered interior with a calm, timeless elegance.
